How FIND handles your personal data.

Version 2026-07-27 · Guava Technologies, Ndola, Zambia

The short version

We collect what a job actually needs: who you are, where the work is, what was agreed, and what happened. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone who is not part of doing the job.

What we hold

Your name, your mobile number and, if you give one, your email address.

The location a job is set at, and your device location while a job is live so the map can show the pro on the way. We stop reading a client's location when the job ends.

The jobs you were part of: category, price, quote, payment method, ratings, and the messages you send support.

Basic device information and app logs — model, app version, crashes — so we can find out why something failed on your phone and not on ours.

If you work on FIND as a pro

We hold more about a pro than about a client, because a client is letting you into their home and we told them we had checked you.

That means your NRC number, the photo of your NRC and the live selfie you took when you applied. They are stored privately, are never shown to clients, and are visible only to the FIND staff who review applications — every look at them is logged.

It also means your location while you are online, not only during a job: that is how dispatch knows which pro is nearest. Go offline and we stop reading it. Your last known position is kept so operations can see coverage, and it ages out.

And it means your money: wallet balance, top-ups, commission taken, and the ratings and score built from your work. You can see all of it in the app.

Why we hold it

To match a job with a pro, show them where to go, price the work, keep a record both sides can point to, and settle disputes.

To keep FIND safe: spotting fraud, repeat no-shows, and accounts that behave badly — on either side.

To check that a pro is who they said they were before we let them into someone's home.

To meet Zambian tax and accounting obligations, which set how long some records must be kept regardless of what either of us would prefer.

Who else sees it

The pro assigned to a job sees the client's first name, phone number and the job address — they cannot come and do the work otherwise. They do not see that client's other jobs, and their access ends with the job.

The client sees the pro's first name, photo, rating and phone number, and their position on the map while the job is live. They never see a pro's NRC, selfie, wallet or earnings.

Our service providers see only what they need to do their part: Google Firebase for sign-in, notifications and crash diagnostics, our payment partner for mobile-money charges, and our hosting provider.

The authorities, where a law or a court order requires it.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not pass it to advertisers.

How long we keep it

Job records are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business records, and then deleted. Location traces from a job are kept only as long as they are useful to settle a dispute about that job.

Vetting documents — a pro's NRC photo and selfie — are kept while the account is active, because we may have to show that we checked. When a pro leaves for good we delete them once the last job they worked on is out of the record-keeping window.

If you close your account we delete or anonymise what we are not legally obliged to keep, so your history stops being about a person.

Your rights under the Data Protection Act

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to a particular use of it. Use "Your data" on this screen and we will answer within thirty days.

Promotional messages are opt-in and you can switch them off at any time in Settings. Messages about a job — an offer, a status change, a payment — are not marketing and keep coming; they are the service.

If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first through Help & support. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commissioner in Zambia.

Children

FIND is not for people under 18, on either side. If we learn that an account belongs to a child we close it and delete the data.

Changes and contact

When this policy changes in a way that matters we will show it in the app rather than quietly swapping the text.
